Super Sentai Sixth Rangers

A Sixth Ranger is an additional ranger to the main sentai team. They are usually introduced after a few episodes to help the team throughout the series. The term does not literally mean that they are the sixth ranger to join the team as some Sixth Rangers are not the 6th member of the team. Some seasons even have two Sixth Rangers in the team.

The official introduction of a sixth ranger started with Dragon Ranger in the 1992 Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger. But before that, there are two seasons with unofficial sixth ranger prototypes. There are currently 26 official sixth rangers, 1 alternate reality sixth ranger, 2 prototypes and 1 season sixth ranger prototype (prototype sixth ranger that appears before the official sixth ranger in that specific season).
